Ich war leider noch nie in einem Autokino. Ich kann mir aber trotzdem gut vorstellen, dass das irgendwie was magisches hat. Man sitzt in seinen eigenen vier Wänden, man hat keine Idioten hinter sich, die gegen den Sitz treten und vor allem: Man hat frische Luft (wenn man das Fenster aufmacht oder einfach draußen sitzt). Die Doku ‚Enjoy Your Intermission‘ bricht mir daher ein bisschen das Herz:
Longtime projectionist, Roger Babcock, has been threading film through the Hi-Way Drive-in’s projectors for more than 40 years. However, with Hollywood studios no longer offering film prints of their releases, Roger is faced with an ultimatum: upgrade all four of the Hi-Way’s 35mm film projectors to expensive digital systems, or close the gates which have so warmly welcomed moviegoers since 1960… for good.

Thank you for sharing! The decline of 35mm film is not just happening in the USA, so I am glad that the documentary relates to Germans as well. We are so glad you enjoyed it. Maybe soon we will be able to visit a drive-in in Germany!

In der Tat, Autokino hat was.
Hier in Nürnberg war ich ein paar mal bis zur Schließung 2002 drinnen.
Vorteil war auch, man konnte was anderes im Auto anstellen, wenn der Film mal scheiße war:)
